The dativel ocative i s also used to li nk nomi nals to the various verbs m eani ng "to
go" and to the verb "becomechange" (འ་ གྱུར་ ") creati ng constructions which are ཚེadverbials
in Tibetan. For example, "improve" (ཡར་ ་རྒྱས་) + dativelocative (སུ་) + "went" (བྱིན་) =
"went i n the manner of improvi ng." These constructions, however, are nornmally
translated as verbs i n English, for example, this example would be transl ated simply as
"i mproved." ཚེ་ c.

When usedi̅with verbs, བཞིན་པར་ and བཞིན་དུ་ typically convey the idea that "i n the
manner or" or "whi l e" the first action is in the process of goi ng on, a second verbal action
occurs. ཚེ་ a.
